So far I'm liking it a lot. I wasn't sure what to expect going in and they have exceeded my expectations. Coldplay is one of those bands that impacted my musical tastes a lot in high school, but for the past few years I haven't really payed attention to - that will change with this album. Lately it's really cool to rip on Coldplay, but I will be the first to say that this is a great album. "Lost!" gets the vote for most likely to be sampled by Kanye West.
Although I've had the record for a while, last week I just started to pay attention to Lucinda Williams' Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. It's a great album and everyone should go listen to it. I can already tell that it's turning into my "summer album". Every summer it seems that there is an album that stands above the rest. Last year's was Sky Blue Sky by Wilco.
The new Coldplay album comes out tomorrow.
The new Amos Lee album comes out next Tuesday.
The new Ray LaMontagne album comes out in September.
Ryan Adams is working on his new album.
Steve Earle - Ft. Worth Blues
Have you ever listened to music that caused you to become giddy with excitement? If you haven't, I'm sorry. A few months ago I discovered an artist by the name of Josh Ritter. About two days after I bought his most recent album, The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter, it was announced that he would be playing a concert at my school. About a month later, he played that concert and it was incredible. I have been to many concerts, but that show in that little 300 seat club rocked my world. Buy all of his music. He is one of the best artists of our generation - I mean that. There are very few modern artists that I get this excited about.
A while ago I posted the trailer for the Sigur Ros film Heima. Now they have posted to whole thing on YouTube, so here it is. Watch it.

Dear sweet Lord it's good...
I've been listening to the clips online. I would pre-order it so I can get the downloads now, but I'm on a break from buying music... It's good though. Real good.
